I'm so excited to shout out that next week, June 8th, CRY WOLF will release from Samhain Publishing. WOOHOO!!! I so cannot wait. It's been ages since I've had a new book release.
I still have not heard from my editor regarding my submission of Death Rides a Pale Harley. It's only been in the editor's computer since April 21 so it's not overly surprising that I haven't gotten an answer either way. Still it's terribly hard to be patient when I'm dying of hopeful anticipation!
In personal news, I'm still with my grandmother. Some days are better than others. It's very frustrating when she is in such pain that all she can do is cry yet when we take her to the Emergency Room the doctor says "There's no reason for the pain so just keep giving her pain pills...also it may be time to consider alternate living arrangements..." and the nurses disappear for hours until suddenly three of them show up in less than fifteen minutes to tell you its time to go--and compares the exam rooms to a pizza delivery counter. Sorry for the rant. I'm just feeling utterly frustrated.
The plans for the annual girl's week vacation next month are solidifying. I havent been horseback riding since I lost my mare 5 years ago. (My kids' first horse experience was with this gentle creature) Actually it was long before that. My mare was over thirty years old so she was well beyond the age of riding. Well, there is a place near the farm that offers horse back trail riding. While I am not big on trail riding--I prefer to climb into the saddle and just roam alone--we decided to schedule it into the week's activities. I'm not certain if I'm excited about it or not, lol. We're also kidnapping my dad and his boat to spend one day on the lake. And of course several days of ATV riding, fishing, swimming, and--if my foot allows--some hiking.
I design and make hats for us each year but the material I had picked out for this year was packed into a box by the dh and he can't remember which box he put my "sewing crap" into...LOL So when I get a break here before long, I'm going to head to a couple of local craft/sewing shops and checking into some options.
Well, there are some storms moving in here, they're supposed to be strong and pretty nasty at times, so I guess I'll head off for now! See ya soon and thanks so very much for dropping in on me today!
Huggles,
Donica

Congrats on your new release! Love the title. Sounds like a keeper!
Sorry to hear your grandmother is doing so poorly. It's difficult to watch our loved ones be sick.
Keeping my fingers crossed on your submission.
Have a great vacay!
