(Yeah, I just wish I had him around the house to do my chores for me) Today, I am being a Mommy. Yesterday was a fairly productive day for the WIP, so today, I'm making up for the chores I didn't get done yesterday.I think I'll be taking some 5 Hour Energy soon.
Anyway, I've done some laundry, have bed sheets to change, and pulled a toy out of the air conditioning vents (Eww... I had to use tongs). There's a ton more. I dusted and vacuumed yesterday, so that's done. But I kinda want to mop and see if I can get more of our laundry done. Though I don't like running the dryer in the afternoon because it gets so hot, the dryer heat only adds to it.
I have to rearrange my cabinets and spices, because my son thinks it's his duty to arrange them as he sees fit--he's two, so you can imagine...
And that doesn't count preparing for this weekend's barbecue we're going to--getting anything we need to bring, fireworks, etc. And then there's bill paying...
Not to mention going to work tonight at 5.
Yeah, I'm thinking I won't be getting a lot done on the WIP today.
Unless I procrastinate again...
And I don't ever do that...
Tee hee he.
How do you balance home chores and writing?

I don't balance much of anything. I clean more often now that the house is on the market, but I don't try to do everything at once. Mainly I just keep things straight and put away. I only have a couple loads of laundry every two weeks--sorry, empty nester here.
I only have a doggie-girl to pick up after, but she sheds a bit. ;-)
Glad to know I'm not the only one who doesn't balance well.. :)
I don't balance stuff very well, either. I don't have small kids, but I am taking care of my mother who is elderly and has health issues. Finding time to write is always a challenge.
Up until the end of 2008, I worked fulltime. I had certain days of the week that I did my chores. Being on some sort of schedule was the only way I could get the basic house stuff done. When I started writing, I used my lunch hours to write. But lots of housework never got done. You just have to keep those dust bunnies at bay, but there are other things that don't get done very often. And if you have small children at home, your days are pretty darn busy just taking care of them.
It's a hard balancing act. I think you have to realize that no, you can't do it all. Set your priorities and don't beat yourself up over what you can't do.
