Another Book Video Teaser

Inspired by Cara's example, I finally sat down and worked up a video teaser for my August release, LOVE ME IF YOU CAN.

The One True Media site wasn't difficult to use and allows for a slightly slicker result than Windows Movie Maker.

In case anyone remembers my whining about it, this is the book I rewrote at least four to five times for four different editors at two different publishers. I'm so happy that it will finally be available on August 6th from The Wild Rose Press.

It's set in my hometown of Nashville, TN, and thankfully my heroine's loft condo located on 1st Ave. South hadn't been flooded by the 2010 spring flood at the time it was written. This writer can only hope she and the hero moved into new digs before the flooding. I'll have to take that into account if I ever complete the series.

Marie-Nicole,

Your video is even better watching it the second time. You've inspired me to tweak mine a bit. Your video does what it's supposed to--it makes me want to buy the book. Don't forget to remind us on release day.

Thanks. I probably wouldn't have gotten around to it if I hadn't seen the way yours turned out.

As for forgetting to remind everyone about when it releases--no worries. I always feel like everyone will be sick of hearing about it by the time it releases.

I wouldn't say I'm convinced yet, but your video does get me thinking more seriously about doing one. I'm curious about how you're going to use it--where you'll put it, etc. It looks great, btw.

I don't plan on doing anything special with it. It's on my book page for that book. I uploaded it to YouTube and to FaceBook. It's more to add interest to my web site and light promo.

The conventional wisdom seems to be they don't really sell books, but they're nice to have. That's unless you have something really unique that goes viral--which I obviously don't. Even then, it's a wash over sales.

Warning: creating one is a time suck, but doing them sort of appeals to me. If a reader is interested in you, they might like to view the video. I don't think I've ever bought a book because of the video trailer.
