Kitty Trouble

Trouble at my house wears a fur coat. Yep, that’s right. My feisty little cat Shipper is the friskiest, most inquisitive kitty I’ve ever owned. She’s into everything! It’s like having a two year old in the house again. She steals toilet paper, pushes stacks of magazines to the floor just to watch them fall, and steals binder clips and hides them all over the house. Don’t ask me why. She’s even adopted a stuffed kitten as her own and carries it from room to room. One of other cats, Widget, just watches her like she’s nuts, and Spike is scared of her because she hisses at him all the time.

A little history: I got Shipper from the girl I didn't want my son to date, but he did anyway -- and now they're married and expecting my first grandchild. She's turned out to be a gem, which was a nice surprise, and I suspect she'll also be a wonderful mother. The cat, however, has questionable genes. Not to mention, she’s a Manx. Built like a rabbit and thrilled with the prospect of being up high. I can’t count the times we’ve had to get her out of trees, off the blinds on the back door, and off the top of my TV. She’s small, quick, and sneaky. The last time she was up a tree, she almost fell trying to leap at birds flying by. She’s quick, but she may not have a lot upstairs.

I plan to include Shipper, probably under another name, in one of my books someday. She’ll make a great kitty-character, and will add lots of comedy and amusement to my plot, I’m sure. My May release at Desert Breeze Publishing, CHOSEN TARGET, has one cat in it that stirs up trouble much like Shipper.

Hope you’ll check it out, along with all of my other books at my website here and on my personal blog here.

Shipper sounds like a lot of fun. I have a sheltie named Shadow in my current WIP. She may prove to steal the show and save the day if I'm not careful.

lol Love your kitty's name, Marie Nicole. I don't know what I'd do without my furry little muses.

I don't have a kitty. My real sheltie's name is Cassie. The fictional sheltie is Shadow.

But a furry friend she is indeed, and I don't want to think about life wtihtout her. Hopefully that won't be for some time to come.

I have one like that too. He likes to eat ponytail holders. I got him from my daughter who moved and couldn't take him.
